Transfer Buget

By Elvin Davies Chief sports writer EADS

The board today have annouced that Derriman will have to make do with the squad he has since there will be no new funds available for transfers. Derriman recently highlighted the need for a right winger but after spending considerable funds already this season, the board has had to look long term.

Board Member David Burley:
'Although we back Derriman's judgement impeccably the long term future of the club is more important then 2 places higher in the league. We are not in danger of being relegated and we have recently brought in high profile player Guy Demel showing our commitment to ensuring the team does not struggle'

Jay Derriman:
'I am not happy with this decision at all, yes we brought in Demel but Bonera left a few days before so we needed to bring someone in. The board has broken promises to me, I was told by this season the stadium would be completed and the cash flow would put us into the big hitters league. I will let the board know my feeling about this one I can assure you....'

Supporters Trust Chairman:
'We understand and support Derriman's position on this, without the ability to strethen in the pre-season how are we going to challenge turkyie for the title? We have sat back for 3 seasons now and seen our beloved team slowly decline, it needs to change and it needs to change now!!'
