Hi, i'm Elvin Davies, chief sports reporter for the The East Anglian Daily Squid. I also post for Pingvinen FC home page and for my first item I have interviewed Jay Derriman about the setup of the club:
Q: Hi Jay, first of all, why Pingvinen FC?
A: Good evening Elvin. The name Pingvinen comes from a bar where I live and when I was at the crossroads of forming a new team ready for the launch of FML I decided to go for that.
Q: So the club badge, it looks similar to another clubs badge. Was this intended?
A: Yes it was, as you know I managed Ipswich Town FC for 11 seasons in beta so when this club was disolved we took a corporate descision to include some of the history behind the Pingu's.
Q: Helmes Deep is your stadiums name, what made you choose this?
A: The living legend that is Patrick Helmes is the insparation behind this. Last weeks 'Theme of the Week' was LOTR and the stadiums name was changed for this. The fans, corporate sponsors and local media all decided that in honour of the current club captain to keep this name indefinately. Helmes himself has also said that because of the inmense pride this has given him he will never leave the club.
Q: You have been critised recently from some sections of fans about spending money on the stadium rather then the team. Do you have a response?
A: Who said this? I havent heard any discontent from the fans so instead of trying to make a story how about you report the facts!!
Q: Calm down Jay it was just a question, i'll move on......
A: Too right you'll move on or this interview is finished.
Q: Err.. right, ok. The club has recently started a youth team, why was this decision made?
A: The youth team was a natural progression as our club continues on its quest to be the biggest and most succesfull team in St John. By developing in youth we are confident of finding some future superstars, a fact underlined by the emergence of a couple of youth players that are already pushing for starting spots in the first team.
Q: Since you secured the FA Organisers gig have you taken your eye off the ball?
A: Are you trying to annoy me or what? I work hard for the team and any other jobs I take on merely increases the media focus on Pingvinen.
Q: Recently the team has dropped to below 50 in the rankings, are you saying this would have happened regardless of your 'other' positions?
A: This interview is finished.
After this Derriman left the room, I tried to calm him down but he threatened to set Chris 'Raccoon Watcher' Buchan on me. He was reportedly seen later entering a chatroom with both Chris and Kylar Stern with rumours of a new signing being discussed......
